BP - Deceptive Marketing?
Posted On 06/02/2008 15:36:03 by youradmin
I was at a local BP gas station (at the corner of Pontiac Trail and Beck Rd. Wixom, MI) and I saw this:

BP - Deceptive Marketing?
Notice the price of gas is $4.07 per gallon, if you pay with CASH.  Otherwise, it is $4.13 per gallon.  The way it is displayed is deceptive and it made me think that $4.13 per gallon is for mid-grade gasoline.  I was wrong, and I didn't notice until after I began pumping.  It made me upset enough to take a picture and write about it.  I want to see if anyone else has seen this, and also warn people to watch out for it if they haven't...yet.  Is this even legal?

It's nothing new.  They used to have separate prices for cash and credit YEARS ago, when stations first starting accepting credit on a regular basis.  I'm sure you know, but when a customer pays by credit, the company is usually charged a percentage of the sale for the customer using credit.
Is it legal?  100% legal.  Better start carrying cash if you want that lower price.
